Magic Kingdom - Be Our Guest Restaurant and Alice & the Mad Hatter.
On our first trip to the Magic Kingdom since purchasing our annual passes, I was able to score reservations at the Be Our Guest Restaurant for an upcoming April Saturday. That morning, we left town around 9 to get to the park by 11. When we arrived we did a little exploring & meet some characters.
The first place we stopped was Starbucks to get coffee, of course!
Did you know......? There is only one place to get Starbucks at the Magic Kingdom and that is at the Main Street Bakery on Main Street!
Then we headed for Tomorrowland and walked through to Fantasyland where we spotted Alice and the Mad Hatter next to the Mad Tea Party ride. The line to meet them was quite short and we had the time, so we waited. They were so silly together! The Mad Hatter was looking up talking about the tree"leaf" and Alice thought he was talking about "leaves" as in leaving. So for about 5 minutes they were going back and forth spelling L-E-A-F-S and L-E-A-V-E-S deciphering whether he was leaving or simply talking about nature. It was amazing.
After the silly conversation with those two, we made our way over to the Be Our Guest Restaurant for our lunch reservations. It is the most popular restaurant in the Magic Kingdon (with good reason) and reservations go out 180 days in advance, so unless someone cancels, it is hard to get them. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it is the only place you can find alcohol in the Magic Kingdom (dinner only).
When we got to the restaurant to check they gave us a Red Rose 'pager' that was used as a tracker for where we were sitting so they knew where to bring the food (if you have your Magic Band, they just use that but we had not received ours yet). Once we got the pager, we went inside where we ordered our food quick service style and then found a seat (it is all open seating for breakfast and lunch). It only took about 5 minutes for the food to come out and it was delicious! We both shared the French Onion Soup, Mike ordered the Braised Pork, I ordered the Carved Turkey Sandwich (when I still ate meat), and of course we had to try the "Grey Stuff" . I don't even know why we ordered so much, because we definitely could not finish it.
----Note to Self: sharing meals is a great idea!
All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would most certainly recommend this Magic Kingdom restaurant to anyone who can get a reservation! Just remember to share meals and save room for the "Grey Stuff".
